What Vigano Accomplished and What He Didn’t

My favorite Tweet of the year

A month has passed since the letter of Archbishop Vigano surfaced.  He exposed a network of high ranking bishops in the Church who are helping to promote homosexuals like McCarrick.  He gave the names of numerous Cardinals that are involved in this sinful cabal.

Pope Francis could have squashed this rumor immediately when he was interviewed.  He could have denied it or at least said that the accusations of Vigano will have to be verified.  If he did this, then it’s his voice against Vigano’s.  Supporters of the Pope will take his word and opponents will follow Vigano.  It’s a draw.

Instead of that, Pope Francis has chosen the path of silence which makes him look guiltier by the day.  Many Cardinals that Vigano has accused have tried to wait this one out as well.  Then there’s Pope Benedict.  He could give a clear statement on what actually happened and if he actually placed sanctions of McCarrick.  He could also tell us the nature of the sanctions.

What did Vigano’s letter actually accomplish?  Well, the enemy hasn’t been defeated, only revealed.  The whole world knows about the many pro-homosexual Cardinals and ones who turn a bling eye to their transgressions.  The big question now is how to defeat the enemy.

Before the Vigano letter came out, the Attorney General of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro released a Grand Jury report that talks about how 300 priests were accused of sexually abusing children.  There were only two indictments in the whole report.  That never got reported by the media since it doesn’t carry that same force as “300 priests”.

There might actually be a silver lining in all of this.  The Attorney General of Missouri said that he is going to investigate sex abuse scandals in the Church in his state.  I know that hundreds of priests will have their names revealed due to the fact that they have been only accused when the amount of indictments will be countable on one hand.  In the court of a law, people are innocent until proven guilty.  In the court of public opinion that isn’t the case, and when you’re a priest it’s far worse.

If other states participate in this lynch mobbing it might actually help the Church.  Public opinion will turn against the Curia and those in the Vatican who aren’t part of the homosexual cabal won’t have a choice and will have to act.  We already see large movements against Wuerl and Cupich.  Cardinal Wuerl has gone dark and Cupich is dodging issues to no end.  Both of them and many others need to go.

After those two are gone, we should demand accountability from the bishops mentioned in the Vigano letter.  Only they can come clean and see if Pope Benedict put restrictions on McCarrick and to what extent he knew about this.  Also, the Pope Emeritus himself needs to come forward.  He made the mistake of stepping down when he was perfectly healthy.  He can gain some of his honor back by stepping forward and telling the truth.  This will help the noble and truly Catholic members of the Curia to combat the nasty anti-Christian homosexual cabal in the Curia and episcopacy that were exposed a month ago by Archbishop Vigano.
