The Attacks In Paris And The Anti-Christian West

Over the last 24 hours, we have heard endless talk of the Paris attacks. Many in the West ask themselves and their fellow countrymen what the future holds for their nation. They see Islam as an invading force imposing itself on the modern secular democratic western culture. Deep down, they know that a weak secular West won’t win against Islam. They are correct. It won’t.

With this knowledge, they ask the simple question: “What do we do?” Many secularists and neo-conservatives think that many muslims will adapt to the West. This may work to an extent. Regardless, a problem remains. Is a secular democratic West a good thing? Would it be better if these muslims delved into the secular decadent culture and embraced its idols such as usury, the culture of death and homosexuality? Certainly not!

Many western Christians link the West with Christianity. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The West couldn’t be more anti-Christian. It is probably more anti-Christian than most muslim and communist countries. No muslim or communist country I know of says that two people of the same sex can come together and form a union which is abominably referred to as a marriage.

The West has been blessed with the Grace of Christ and his Church since the time of Constantine. We gave up on that and decided to turn our back on the Lord, and now the judgment of God is upon the West. The end of this judgment will come but it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Do we really want muslims to trade in one false religion for another? Absolutely not! What we need to tell muslims living in the West is the same thing that we need to tell the Godless people of the West: To turn away from their ways and turn to Christ and the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Western politicians and political pundits scratch their heads and wonder what to do with muslim immigrants who haven’t yet assimilated. How often do you hear them say that we should try and convert them to the Catholic Church? Why aren’t the Bishops of each western nation meeting and discussing strategy on how to convert them? Perhaps they don’t have the energy? Perhaps they don’t know how? Perhaps they think Islam is a valid path to God? Whatever they think, they’re not getting any closer to the answer.

We need to study the life and ways of St. Francis of Assisi because he cared deeply about the muslims and their souls. They must be missionized along with the Godless westerners. Only then can western civilization be purified and be restored to its former glory.

A time will come when the West is Christian once more. However, it will only happen when Catholics decide to do their job and evangelize the non-Christians living here. Until we do that, the judgment of God will remain upon the West.

So what is the answer to Paris? We have the answer but most aren’t aware of it. The answer isn’t secularizing muslims. The answer isn’t immigration reform. The answer isn’t burying our head in the sand. The answer is Christ. The answer is the Church. The answer is faith. The answer is the saints. The answer is baptism. The answer is the great commission that Christ gave us before departing this world:

“Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.”

– Matthew 28:19-20

  1. Why can’t the bishops of the world meet for a synod on evangelising the non Catholics? We need bishops in the spirit of Saint Francis, the missionary to the people of the east who haven’t been preached the gospel.
