The Apostle James Forgot About Tawheed and Mutah

We know that modern Islamic apologetics is stuck with blaming St. Paul for the rise of Christianity.  The death, resurrection, deity, and other anti-Islamic Christian doctrines are present in the writings of the apostle Paul.  The 12 apostles, John the Baptist and the blessed Virgin cannot be blamed for these doctrines because they’re described as Muslims in the Quran.  Hence, Paul is the Christian fall guy.

Muslims like to play on the rift between Paul and the original disciples found in the NT.  There is certainly a rift but it’s on one specific thing.  Let’s look at a passage in the book of Acts in chapter 21.  James says the following to Paul:

They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.

– Acts 21:21

So we have a complaint from James to Paul about Jewish Christians and the law.  Now, according to modern Islam apologetics, James is a Muslim and Paul is a Christian.  These two people would be disagreeing about the Christology, Christ’s death and resurrection.  Also, in theory James should have been preaching from and about the Injeel that was supposedly revealed to Jesus Christ.  Also, James should have been rebuking Paul for not speaking of the prophet named Ahmad which was supposedly preached by Jesus Christ in Surah 61:6.  James also didn’t rebuke Paul for not endorsing prostitution aka mutah.  Presumably polygamy would have been on the chopping block for Paul as well.

James and Paul couldn’t be further apart if the Christian-Muslim theory is true.  Yet, the only thing he complains about is Jewish Christians and the law.  An anticipated objection would be to say that Luke excluded the discussion about these other topics because he was doing damage control.  He wanted to overlook these discussions about Christian-Muslim issues and make everything look fine.  This doesn’t work.  We see that Luke is more than willing to overlook friction between Paul and the original disciples.

There is a much easier way to go about this and that is to conclude that Jesus Christ never preached about an Injeel, about Muhammad, and about Tawheed.  He also didn’t talk about how he would escape death and God would stage a mock crucifixion to deceive the entire world for 600 years.  There was no confusion about any of these topics until the 7th century.  If we simply chucked Muhammad, every single Paul vs. apostles problem would be solved.  Jihad would be gone as well but that’s another issue.
