Rules For Retrogrades and a New Interview

Timothy Gordon has joined up with his brother David and their friend Chris Plance to start a new YouTube show called Rules for Retrogrades.  The show has been on for less than a month and there is already 9 episodes.  In other words, there is a lot of content and the topics range from the Amazon Synod to Catholic dating.

The title Rules for Retrogrades(R4R for short) is a play on the book Rules for Radicals by American communist Saul Alinsky.  I suppose one could say that it’s a manual for our side.  Instead of promoting leftism it promotes Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded.

I recently got in touch with Chris Plance.  I was especially interested in his commitment to Old Testament imagery and theology.  Of course, Jesus Christ didn’t come in a vacuum.  He wasn’t just some guy who came along and claimed to be the Son of God.  The Old Testament is the fertile soil from where the messiah emerges.

Not only did I get in touch with Chris Plance, but I invited him on for an interview and he accepted.  Chris is dedicated to the evangelization of Los Angeles.  I found this interesting.  It’s certainly an important location as its the largest city in the western United States.

Unlike most places in America, there is a large Catholic population there so there is a beach head in terms of evangelization.  It gives me comfort that all of the major cities in California are named after saints or carry Catholic themes.

In our discussion, Chris talked about his faith journey and his formation.  He mentioned that he had been really close with Catholic theologian Scott Hahn.  Although I saw this coming, I didn’t realize that they were that close.  I knew that he probably admired Scott Hahn because of his emphasis on OT theology.  In a prior post, I reviewed Hahn’s book The Fourth Cup.

I’m going to be continuing to do interviews on my YouTube channel.  I’m also going to be doing theological and current events videos.  I must admit that interviews are pretty easy since the guest gets to do the bulk of the talking.  Oh well, I’m going to do it.

So watch my interview with Chris Plance and subscribe to my channel on YouTube.  Also, make sure to watch Rules for Retrogrades.  You’ll get the unfiltered wisdom of the Gordon brothers and Chris Place.  The show carries the endorsement of allanruhl.com so if you like this website, try it out!

God bless!
