On Sunday, right wing media sensation Mike Cernovich posted this Tweet. It says the following:
Christianity has given us a country where 11 year olds dance for adult men who throw dollars on the stage.
Christianity gave us a church that molested children and sold out their flock (Covington) to the left.
A moderated form of Islam is probably the West’s only hope.
There is so much wrong with this Tweet that I won’t even get into it. If something thinks that those things happened because of Christianity, then it’ll be hard to talk them out of it.
I initially thought this was a joke, but yesterday Cernovich went on a long rant defending the Tweet and his Muslim friends, while attacking Christians. Cernovich has always been a darling of the alt-right. Though he appears to have moved somewhat from that position, he’s still admired by them. The alt-right absolutely hates Christianity. Some of them pay lip service to it as part of the great tradition of the West, while others openly despise it without shame. Cernovich has now shown us his true colors.
To be honest, I don’t really care what Cernovich thinks. He is a public figure though who is(or was) the darling of many right wing Christians. It’s interesting that he said Islam. It should be pointed out that he’s married to an Iranian woman. While most Iranians lose their faith when they come to the West, it isn’t always the case. This may be the case with Cernovich?
I won’t defend some of the extremely negative reaction that some people have given him. I speak only for myself. I suppose I only have one question for Mike Cernovich: Why don’t you just convert?
I mean I’d like to see every Muslim leave Islam but America is a free country. Cernovich can believe in anything that he wants. It may even help his family dynamic as he’s married to a Persian.
There’s also one thing that most people wouldn’t have noticed in the Tweet. He didn’t call for Islam. He called for a “moderated form of Islam”. What exactly is a moderated form of Islam? Does he mean moderate Islam? If he does, it’s a pretty interesting distinction to make. That means that there is a version of Islam that Cernovich doesn’t want in America. He probably wants a form of Islam completely stripped of all Hadith save for the rituals and holidays. The same type of Islam that most American converts convert to.
If he’s willing to make that distinction in regards to Islam, why not in regards to Christianity? Why didn’t he call for true Christianity? Does true Christianity promote 11 year olds dancing for adult men and clergy throwing their own flock under the bus when the leftist media lies about them?
I don’t know much about Cernovich but he’s obviously an enemy of the Christian faith. I hope he enjoys his new religion.
