Have you ever heard of Omar Khadr? He’s a Canadian born Muslim Jihadi who fought with the Taliban. He killed an American medic and blinded another in Afghanistan. Watch the video that I’ve provided above if you want to learn all of the details.
To make a long story short, our government here in Canada is apologizing to him(for what???) and paying him 10.5 million dollars. I find that tremendously sad. This is because he was in Guantanamo Bay and supposedly tortured. This “torture” was sleep deprivation. Remember that this is the same person who deprived a man of his life and another of his sight. Now our government is paying this man more money than I will make in my lifetime because a foreign government deprived him of sleep after he killed a medic and blinded another person. Regardless, Canadian taxpayers are going to line his pockets.
I know I sound angry, but there is a point to this rant. The Prophet Isaiah once said in Chapter 5, verse 20:
Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter!
This is what is happening to many of us here in the West. Many of us say that evil is good, darkness is light, and sweet is bitter. Being a former colony of England, the motherland was notorious for this kind of behaviour. If you stole a hat in the post reformation era in England, you’d be executed but if you stole large amounts of Gold from the Spanish Main they’d make you a Knight and you’d be on the payroll of the Queen as her personal pirate.
Khadr and those who helped him escape justice need prayers. Lots of prayers. They also need to get converted to the Christian faith. This is pure evil and those who are Christian need to oppose all evil. To a secularist, evil is a joke, but to those who love God, evil is real. We also need to hate it. As Christians we are commanded to hate evil. Here are some Biblical verses that talk about hating evil:
The Lord loves those who hate evil;
he preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
- Psalm 97:10
The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate.
- Proverbs 8:13
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;
- Romans 12:9
Do not quench the Spirit, do not despise prophesying, but test everything; hold fast what is good, abstain from every form of evil.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
These verses clearly show that we should hate evil. The greatest way to defeat evil is to preach the Gospel. Omar Khadr, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and many others need to be cured of their evil. They’d do much better receiving sacraments instead of giving their lives to Jihad. Let’s all pray for sanity in this world.
You are right to be angry Allan.
I find it very difficult to understand how things like this can happen. It’s as though the Western world has a death wish.
