Jussie Smollett and the New Renaissance

A couple of days ago, Empire actor and monumental fraud Jussie Smollett was cleared of all charges.  In the most unbelievable act, Smollett had all 16 charges dropped.  They kept his bail money and told him that he had to do community service which is an obvious sign that he’s guilty.

To sum things up for those that don’t know the story, actor Jussie Smollett was attacked on the streets of Chicago at two in the morning by white Trump supporters who tried to put a noose around his neck and pour bleach on him.  They yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him since he’s black and homosexual.  It later came out that those attackers were his friends(who weren’t white but Nigerian) and Smollett had paid them to stage the whole thing.  They even found the cheque that he had given them.  The police investigated for weeks and now some corrupt judge dropped all the charges.  Unbelievable.

Rahm Emanuel, the mayor of Chicago and one of the biggest leftists in America was absolutely furious at Smollett for this shameful act.  See the above video.

The only reason that Smollett got off the hook is that he’s famous and a huge promoter of sodomy.  Smollett filled out a fake police report which is a very serious offence, but it doesn’t matter because he promotes homosexuality.

Being the Church history geek that I am I’ve concluded that we’re living in a new renaissance.  Basically in the 1400’s when the renaissance came to be, Europe had reverted back to paganism.  Of course, it still believed in Christianity but the behaviour was pagan to the core.  The eternal city of Rome was no exception.  In fact Rome was one of the worst cities.

In 1527, some mutinous soldiers of Emperor Charles V sacked Rome in one of the most brutal sackings in history.  This force, know as the Landsknecht was made up of elite soldiers.  They were mostly German Lutheran and Spanish secret Muslims who could no longer reside in Spain.  Obviously both groups would have no love for the Catholic Church, hence the motivation for the sacking.  It also didn’t help that Charles wasn’t paying them.  At the time, Rome was full of homosexuality and pedophilia.  It was at the peak of the renaissance.  Europe was being reborn in terms or knowledge but dying in terms of morals.

The Jussie Smollett case shows that the West in 2019 is in that situation.  If you promote depravity, you can commit a horrible crime and get off the hook.  I hope that the 21st century isn’t as rough as the 16th century.  By the second half of the 16th century, Europe had its house in order again, though it came at a high price.  Let us hope that for the West to return to sanity, it’s a peaceful transition.  I have my doubts but we can always pray for it.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

– Isaiah 5:20
