Christians beat the Muslims…and so did everyone else!

According to Islam, Jesus Christ, the virgin Mary and all of the apostles were Muslims.  Jesus Christ was given something called the Injeel.  Either his followers forgot to memorize it, write it down or they simply died without passing on the knowledge.  These people were Muslims who believed in Tawheed.  They believed that Jesus Christ was the Messiah and was born of the Virgin Mary.  They also don’t believe in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  A crucifixion took place but it only appeared to be Jesus crucified.

Now if one asks a Muslim apologist why knowledge of these people were lost, it usually comes down to the fact that the apostle Paul and his crew were literate, articulate and they were able to promote their movement so much that not a trace of Islam existed.  To this day there isn’t any evidence of evidence of Jesus, Mary, or the apostles being Muslims.  There is also no evidence that the Injeel existed.

So the Pauline Christians beat them; end of story, right?  It wasn’t only the Pauline proto-orthodox(Ehrman language here) Christians who beat out the Islamic Christians.  Hundreds of fringe groups beat out the Islamic Christians.  When we read the writings of the second century Church fathers, they write against lots of heresies.  There are the gnostics of course, everyone knows about them.  What most people don’t know is that they were divided up into a plethora of sects, all with different views.  There were Jewish Christians groups.  There were several of them and they all had different beliefs.  Other sects existed such as the adoptionists.  None of these groups fit the description of Muslims.

It wasn’t just the Pauline Christians that beat out the Muslims.  Every single one of these insignificant groups beat out the Muslims.  Now, it’s true that the Pauline Church won out against these groups, but these other groups caused enough of a problem for the Church that the Church fathers had to write about them and refute their beliefs.  Islam wasn’t even brought up.  If it existed(which we know it didn’t) it must have had an insignificant effect.

Muslims, I must ask, does this not bother you?

I have often said that Islam is a polemic against history.  This is probably the best example.  No Islamic Christians or the Injeel but every other kind of Christianity that one can imagine.  In the Quran we read:

O you who believe! Be supporters of Allah, as Jesus son of Mary said to the disciples, “Who are my supporters towards Allah?” The disciples said, “We are Allah’s supporters.” So a group of the Children of Israel believed, while another group disbelieved. We supported those who believed against their foe, so they became dominant.

Allah supported the Islamic Christians against their foe.  Well, can the Muslims provide us proof?  There is not a shred of proof from any Islamic apologist in the world that Jesus, Mary, or the apostles were Muslims.  We have dozens of insignificant non proto-orthodox groups identified but no Muslims.  The best answer to this is that the Quran is in error on this incredibly significant point.  Again, the Ebionites crushed the Muslims.  I’m not very impressed with the supposed Islamic Jesus.
