How a Muslim Helped Christianity But Not Islam

Dhul Qarnayn – Alexander the Great

When one studies ancient history, we see that the Greeks and the Persians were always at war, similar to how the English and French were always at war during the Middle Ages.  This happened from about 500 BC to the the Arab Conquest of Persia in the 7th Century.

Refuting Faiz on Surah 61:6

St. John the Baptist

Faiz responded to an article I wrote a while back saying that Muslims and can learn from Archbishop Vigano.  He said a few things so I will have a few posts to respond to him.  They probably won’t be consecutive but I will respond.  I will probably write three or four in total so here’s the first.

Mecca isn’t in the Bible

Mecca to Jerusalem. Is this really Psalm 84?

The Quran states that Muhammad is mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel.  Traditionally Muslims have pulled out passages such as the prophet like Moses in the book of Deuteronomy and the Paraclete of whom Jesus spoke.  I’ve spoken of Islamic history as being a polemic against history.  Deep down Muslim apologists are feeling this so they’ve gone beyond the supposed prophecies of Muhammad and have moved on to other things.  One of them is finding the city of Mecca in the Bible.

Talking With a Shia Muslim

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrj9s5JoQ8E

There’s a coffee shop close to my house where I can be found a couple nights a week.  I’m usually there in the evening reading a book or doing some writing.  I know a lot of the people who work there.  They usually ask me what I’m reading.  It’s usually right before they say that they’re closing and I must soon be on my way.

What Muslims and Christine Blasey Ford Can Learn From Archbishop Vigano

As everyone knows the Kavanaugh hearings are all over the news.  The big controversy is that three women have accused Kavanaugh of illegal sexual acts.  The most prominent of these is Christine Blasey Ford who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault.  She said the following:

The Three Worst Arguments For Islam

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBwvPJa0HPE

In my years of dealing with Islam, I’ve heard a lot of arguments for their faith.  I haven’t been convinced by any of them and that is the reason that I’m not a Muslim.  However, there is certainly a hierarchy in their arguments as some are better than others.

I’m going to list what I think are the three worst arguments for Islam.  I should point out that I will only list arguments that are widely used by apologists.  I’ve heard other bad ones but they’ve only been used by either a single apologist or YouTuber so I won’t list them here.

Islam – The Religion of Muhammad, Jesus, Moses and….Who?

Muslims in the West like to talk about Islam as the religion of all of the Prophets of God.  They don’t believe that Islam started in the 7th century.  That was simply the ummah of Muhammad.  Islam is the oldest religion on the planet and it was adhered to by Adam, Noah, and essentially every righteous figure that Muslims read about in the Old Testament and then of course John the Baptist, Mary, and Jesus in the New Testament.

James White, JW Dialogue, and Muslim Dialogue

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGPIrcV5h6Q

I once saw a video with James White on ABN.  He was supposed to be talking about Islam but he ventured a little off topic to make a point.  He spoke of his ministry to Jehovah’s Witnesses and how he uses a certain tactic.  White has two main proof texts that he uses in his dialogue with them.  He explains that after the first one is used, there will be a pause as the JW will not have an answer.  At this point it’s fun to gloat but it’s imprudent.  The correct approach is to tell them to think about it for a bit then ask to show them another one.  Dr. White says that they always allow it.  From my street corner dialogues, I would say that I have a similar experience.  Dr. White is correct on that one.

The Empty Threat of Sharia Gave Us Pride Parades

Yesterday my city had it’s annual Pride parade.  The parade where people gather and celebrate a sin that cries to heaven for vengeance.  Of course this has only gotten worse since they allowed homosexual marriage.  How did this happen?  I think that there are about three or four main reasons.  One is the sexual revolution.  Another is the collapse of the Church on this issue.  However, there is a really important issue that I don’t think people quite comprehend.

Robert Spencer vs. E. Michael Jones

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvmGvMZ9ZaU

I had heard a month or two ago that Robert Spencer had left the Catholic Church.  Some Google searching had suggested that he had joined the Orthodox Church which is apparently the Church he was baptized into as a child.  It’s disappointing to see people leave my faith but Robert Spencer had never criticized Islam from a Catholic perspective and the above video certainly shows that.
