On A Mission: Lessons From St. Francis de Sales
In being an effective debater you need two things. You need proper debating tactics and you need information. Information comes with time and reading but if you never master the proper debating tactics, it’s almost uselss. The key to debating is not to defeat your opponent but to let your opponent defeat himself. This is done by asking the right questions.
Throughout my years of studying apologetics, I have found one thing to be absolutely disgusting. No party is innocent of this. The crime? Writing mock dialogues where your character makes his or her opponent look like a complete fool. Let me repeat: Every religious group is guilty of this, whether it is in the form of an article, a blog post, a pithy cartoon, etc.
We often hear from Muslims who live in the West(and outside of the West) that they believe in Jesus. They say that he is a great prophet of God. Whenever I talk with a Muslim and they say this, I always respond that if you believe in Jesus, you’ll believe in what he says.

Yesterday two young Islamic fundamentalists went into a Church in a small village in Normandy, France and murdered the Priest while he was celebrating the liturgy. The attackers were 19 years old and the priest was 86 years old. Fr. Jacques Hamel died a martyr for his Catholic faith.

Fathers of the Church
People often wonder what Church fathers to read. That’s a very important question since the Church fathers were the ones that formed the faith in the early centuries and fought many heresies. As stated on previous posts, I like focusing on primary sources when I read Church history in contrast to people like Dr. James White. What I’m trying to say is that we need to read the Church fathers.
On February 28, 2016 I was in my hometown at my parents house and watching the Oscars. At the very end of course is Best Picture. It happened to be Spotlight, a film that chronicles a team of Journalists exposing the ecclesial cover up of priests who had been abusing, molesting, and raping children.
Chartres Cathedral
A couple of years ago, several people from my Church went on the Chartres Pilgrimage in France. It is a Pilgrimage that includes a long three day walk from Paris to Chartres Cathedral. The total distance is about sixty miles.

The West is anti-Christian and beyond repair. It has capitulated to moral backwardness and depravity. Christianity in the West is almost dead. While thriving in many other regions of the world, the Church is in trouble in the West.
