I remember back in the day when I was in elementary school. I wasn’t the greatest student and always feared report card day. In the teacher’s comments I often got “Disruptive in Class” next to my percentage grade.

Jason Kenney vs Joseph de Maistre
by
The above video is quite telling. Basically what Brown is showing us is that what flies under the banner “conservative” these days is not what it was 30, 20 or even 10 years ago.
Islamicize Me and the Evangelical Civil War
by
There is an Evangelical civil war going on in the realm of apologetics. On one side is James White who fewer and fewer apologists seem to want to affiliate with. The other side is the David Wood, Vocab Malone, Jon Mcrae and Sam Shamoun camp. This split happened a couple of years ago when James White did an interfaith event with Muslim theologian Yasir Qadhi. While I thought that this interfaith event was a mistake, I do believe that White’s opponents were too harsh on him.
The Best Church Fathers for Apologetics
by
I’ve read quite a bit about the early Church. The works of the early Church Fathers have always been a delight to read. I’ve been thinking recently that if I would give a list of my favorite books to read of the Fathers, it would be an interesting list. However, recently I’ve been thinking that in terms of apologetics, there is a completely different list.
Rod Dreher, Aelred of Rievaulx, and Catholic Monasticism
by
Last year, Rod Dreher shook the world when he came out with The Benedict Option. Most Catholic and Orthodox people that I know hate the thesis of this book. I actually quite liked the book and while I have a problem with a few minor details, the overall thesis is a good blueprint for the Western world going forward.
The Refugee Crisis: A Catholic Response to Justin Trudeau
by
Justin Trudeau has thrown the doors wide open to pretty much any refugees or asylum seeker who can reach the Canadian border. Why do these people come to Canada? Because they’re faced with war, desolation and destruction back in their home countries. The refugee crisis of 2015 saw many refugees come to Canada.
Michael Coren on Politics and Jesus
by
On May 24, Michael Coren came out with an article called Conservatives Don’t Own Jesus. The reason that I’m not addressing this sooner is because Coren long ago blocked me on Twitter so I haven’t been able to follow his work as thoroughly. He’s a pretty big voice in Canada so he cannot be ignored. It seems like only yesterday he was writing Catholic apologetic books but now he’s promoting full blown socialism.
Two Kinds of Protestantism versus Judaism
by
As I mentioned in a previous post, the religion of Judaism was born after the second Temple was destroyed. Judaism was formed by Jochanan ben Zakkai for the Jews who didn’t want to follow the Messiah. One thing about Judaism is that it is a tribal religion. A few converts come in here or there, but overall, it’s a tribal religion. Usually when someone converts the born Jews say: “Welcome to the tribe!”
An Interesting Note About Latin Christianity in North Africa in the 11th Century
by
We tend to think about Latin Christianity coming to an end in North Africa when the Arabs invaded in the 7th Century. However, that’s an overly simplistic way of putting it. For example, Donald Trump took the office of President in January 2017 but did anything really change in America? Not really. People just went about their lives.
