Rabbi Tovia Singer who will be doing a Yom Kippur Service tonight and tomorrow
Starting at sundown today and ending at sundown tomorrow millions of Jews around the worlds will go to the Synagogue for Yom Kippur, known in English as the Day of Atonement. The prescription for this is in the book of Leviticus, specifically in Chapter 16. After describing the procedure in the chapter, verse 34 sums everything up beautifully:

The Quran claims to be the next and final revelation in the Abrahamic tradition. That is, the religion of Abraham, Moses, Elijah, John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. Unlike the New and Old Testament that we have today, the Quran was revealed to only one person over a 23 year period. Over those years, according to Islamic tradition Muhammad told his followers these revelations who then wrote them down or committed them to memory. Shortly after Muhammad’s death, the Muslim community got together and constructed a single Quran and this is the Quran read today. That’s at least how the official story relates it.

Anyone who reads this blog knows that I’ve critiqued Rabbi Tovia Singer in the past. A search on this blog will bring up some posts about him. On Rabbi Singer’s website, he has an article called Why do Christians Become Enraged When Fellow Parishioners Choose to be Chosen? He brings up something interesting in this article. He writes:

We all remember times where we’ve had long faith discussions. It’s usually hours on end over a meal, coffee, or a glass of wine. I remember discussing religion over dinner with a Muslim friend of mine from Gaza. For the first time in his life, he probably doubted his faith that night. Regardless, we had hours to talk. We don’t always have that.
The group Jews For Judaism has been on my radar screen for some years. In the 1970’s some Jews who became Evangelicals started a group called Jews For Jesus and led a large well-funded attempt to convert Jews to Evangelicalism. To counter this group, some Rabbis and Jewish laymen formed a group called Jews For Judaism. They didn’t call themselves Jews Against Jesus probably because it’s better to sound positive rather than negative. However, this would be a more honest title. I don’t wish to evaluate any of their apologetics in this post but I want to make some general comments about the group.
As all of my readers on this blog know, I’m a huge fan of Church history. I study Church history because I think it’s a very useful tool when engaging the enemies of God.
Several years ago, when Michael Coren used to be a Christian, he had a scuffle with the anti-Christian, sodomy promoting Rabbi Shmuley Boteach over the issue of Pius XII. All Boteach could do was slander the Pope and then said to Coren: “Read Hitler’s Pope!”

Ever since the 1960’s, the enemies of God have been going after Pope Pius XII. After WWII many Jews thought of Pius XII as a hero. Even Israeli foreign minister Gold Meir upon the death of Pius XII said: “When fearful martyrdom came to our people in the decade of Nazi terror, the voice of the Pope was raised for the victims. The life of our times was enriched by a voice speaking out on the great moral truths above the tumult of daily conflict.”

Ever heard these lines before when dealing with Islamic apologists? I certainly have. To Islamic apologists, this argument carries a lot of weight. However, they’ll only pull out the “majority of scholars” when it backs up their position. Since I have written on this inconsistency in the past, I won’t repeat it here. I want to touch on how to confront these arguments head on.
