I recently read this article about the decline of the mainline Protestant religion in Minnesota. It also talked about the Catholic Church. The three Protestant groups it mentions are the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the United Methodist Church, and the Presbyterian Church.

Catholicism and Tribal Identity
by
When trying to spread the Catholic faith, one of the biggest problems that arises is betraying the religion of the tribe. Catholicism can easily be shown to be a universal faith. It has a dynamic presence on every continent and is therefore compatible with any culture in the world. It’s not affiliated with a certain culture or regional area. However, for many cultures, Catholicism is completely foreign.
Michael Coren on Politics and Jesus
by
On May 24, Michael Coren came out with an article called Conservatives Don’t Own Jesus. The reason that I’m not addressing this sooner is because Coren long ago blocked me on Twitter so I haven’t been able to follow his work as thoroughly. He’s a pretty big voice in Canada so he cannot be ignored. It seems like only yesterday he was writing Catholic apologetic books but now he’s promoting full blown socialism.
What Was the Religion of Jesus Christ? The Answer Will Surprise You!
by
What was the religion of Jesus Christ? Most Christians will give one or two answers. Those answers are Judaism or Second Temple Judaism. The Muslim will say that Jesus practiced Islam. I believe that all three of these answers are incorrect. I won’t be dealing with the argument that Jesus was a Muslim but I will dispute the fact that Jesus practiced Judaism or Second Temple Judaism.
High Mass, IHOP, and Sola Gratia
by
On Sunday I slept in so I couldn’t go to the 7:15 am Low Mass at my Church. Instead I went to the 12:30 High Mass. It’s nice going to a High Mass every now and then. It’s nice hearing the choir, smelling incense and seeing people that don’t go to the Low Mass.
Rachel Weisz and Kristen Scharold
by
On November 24, 2016 I published a post called “The Extraordinary Adventures of Kristen Scharold” which was a response to an article that Kristen Scharold had written in the New York Times about how she had been a devout Evangelical all of her life and is now in a homosexual relationship with another woman. Both of these women claim to be Christian. The post received no comments. It didn’t stand out in terms of the amount of views it got either. That is, until recently.
Another Conversation from the Birthday Party
by
The discussion about ex-Muslims was good but earlier in the evening another discussion took place. The birthday was at a downtown condo. I had a good discussion on the balcony with a lady from my Church. The topic of discussion was the presence of Islam in the West and the Identitarian movement, specifically a YouTube video including Martin Sellner.
Identitarianism Won’t Save Europe
by
Above is an interview of Martin Sellner, who is a leading Identitarian in Europe. What is the goal of the Identitarian movement? To save Europe from Islam of course. In this interview we find some disturbing things. It’s all about ethnicity. It doesn’t matter if you’re Christian, atheist, neo-pagan, socialist, or capitalist. It’s all about being European and non-Islamic. That’s essentially what it is.

I hope that all of my readers had a good Easter. I also want to offer my congratulations to all those who became Catholic at the vigil. Welcome to the family!
Musings on Nationalism
by
In 2014 I was on a trip to Europe. I only spent two days in Serbia, but I really loved it there. I’m definitely going to go back. I was particularly attracted to the anti-Western mentality that they had there. One thing that I noticed was the religiosity. Serbia is a deeply religious country. They are part of the Eastern Orthodox communion and the Orthodox faith forms an integral part of their society. It’s pretty impressive. I wish all Catholic countries were this observant.
