It’s that time of year again. It’s nearing October 31 and Dr. White is talking about the reformation. Ironically, he’s making it less glorious than he’s made it out to be in the past. A bit odd in my opinion. He covered several topics a while back. I want to comment on some of them. The times are for the video above.

The Great Irony of Surah 4:157
by
Anyone who’s familiar with Christian apologetics against Islam knows about Surah 4:157. It’s the verse in the Quran that forces Muslims to oppose the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The verse was “revealed” 600 years after the event that is at the center of the Christian faith.
A little help from Pope Pius X
by
It’s October 2017. This is the month that many Protestants will celebrate the so called “reformation” since it’s 500 years from the posting of Martin Luther’s complaints on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. I’ve been thinking of Protestants a lot this month. If Luther had not done what he did, the people who today call themselves Protestant would be attending the Roman Mass and praying the Rosary.
Debating Sharia
by
Recently Islamic apologist Paul Williams posted a pretty good article on his website. It’s called How to Explain the Sharia to Your Christian Neighbor. If I were a Muslim, I’d pretty much use these arguments to defend Sharia to a Christian. Here is the article:
Bart Ehrman: Prophet of Islam
by
Christianity and Islam have a very different history when it comes to apologetics. Christianity needed to engage in apologetics immediately whereas Islam didn’t need to. Islam had an empire and held the sword over Christians. Even if the Christians could refute Islam, it didn’t matter because they were ruled by the Islamic Caliphate.
Western Converts to Islam
by
Historically the West has always been firmly opposed to Islam. This is because of the strong Christian Tradition of the West. Unfortunately, the strength of the faith in the West is a mere shadow of its former self. I’ve never met a Western convert to Islam before but there are Western converts. Having reflected on the arguments for Islam and Christianity, I find the arguments for Islam to be overall very weak. The Islamic sources show a very poor understanding of the two religions that it’s trying to usurp.
Zakir Hussain Commits Shirk
by
I’ve been watching a lot of Zakir Hussain debates lately as he seems to be the new superstar apologist over in England. He has debated James White twice. The second time was recent and I’ve done a few posts on that debate. The first time was back in 2012 where he debated Dr. White on whether or not Muhammad is foretold in the Bible. I should point out that I don’t think that Zakir Hussain has been in a debate with cross examination. That would be interested to see him defend his theories under firm questioning.
The Truth About Pride Parades
by
Yesterday I was driving to a neighbourhood to meet a couple I know at a board game cafe. On the sidewalk, I saw three young girls walking together. They were all carrying rainbow flags. A little further on, I saw a man dressed as a woman. Not long after that I saw a clergyman in an alb with a rainbow stole. I then remembered that it was the day of the local Pride parade.
The Nashville Statement and “Christian” Liberals
by
A couple of days ago, a declaration came out entitled the Nashville Statement. This statement reaffirms Christ’s teaching on marriage and condemns homosexual relationships. It is an Evangelical document and is signed by many prominent Evangelicals including John McArthur, John Piper, Albert Mohler and many others. While I’m a committed Catholic and not Evangelical, I agree with everything in this document.
James White vs. Zakir Hussain on the Crucifixion
by
So here is what happened. Dr. James White recently debated British Muslim apologist Zakir Hussain on whether or not Jesus was crucified. Zakir Hussain clearly won this debate. He didn’t win because his arguments were good, in fact, they were the exact opposite. They were arguments that were on par with Matthew Vines arguments for the Biblical blessing of homosexual relationships. They were that bad.
