Adnan Rashid is in Damage Control Mode

Adnan Rashid and David Wood have been in a war on YouTube and Rashid is losing.  He seems like a nice guy but he just can’t deliver the substance that David Wood and Sam Shamoun can.  Wood and Shamoun clearly know the Christian and Muslim sources better than Rashid.  Rashid has been making short little videos, twenty minutes tops while David and Sam are doing responses that are 2-3 hours and it has certainly been devastating.

I don’t want to get into the main topic but in the video above Rashid names a bunch of verses from the Gospel that he thinks are authentic.

He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

– Matthew 15:24

This verse, along with Matthew 10:5-6 are thrown out in a bogus attempt to show that Jesus Christ was only meant for the Jews.  While Jesus Christ was certainly sent to the Jews and interacted mostly with Jews in his lifetime, his apostles were to deliver his Gospel to the gentile nations of the world.  We’ll show this from the same Gospel that they quote which is Matthew.

I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

– Matthew 8:11

On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.

– Matthew 10:18

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

– Matthew 24:14

Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.

– Matthew 26:13

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

– Matthew 28:19

With a clear reading of the context of these two statements and the rest of the Gospel of Matthew we see that although Christ was sent to the Jews and preached mostly to them, His message was meant for the whole world.  This would be carried on in the Acts of the Apostles and afterwards.

In addition to Muslims, liberal revisionists and people in search of the “Jewish Roots” of Jesus try to focus on Matthew 15:24 and Matthew 10:5-6.  Of course, they never talk about these other verses that indicate a universal mission for his followers.  I suppose every heresy that has ever existed has had some Biblical truth to it.  The heretic clings onto 1 or 2 passages and puts all the importance on them without acknowledging other verses that gives them context.  This is true whether the heresy be Arianism, Islam, or anything else.
