Secular Elites, Sodomy, and Star Wars

We all need a break from our busy lives from time to time. I can’t read Church history every time I pick up a book. We all need to relax and take a deep breath and enjoy life once it a while. We can do this by reading a novel, watching a good baseball game, or going to a movie.

What bothers me is that in the life of the secular elites, they turn this area into a battleground as well. I remember in 1999 when I was going to see the movie Big Daddy in theatres. My mother warned me that two men kiss in this movie. I knew that it was wrong but since I was young at the time, I didn’t see the significance. I just wanted to see the latest Adam Sandler movie.

I was recently listening to an old podcast on Ancient Faith Today which is an Eastern Orthodox podcast. The guest on the show was Rod Dreher and he spoke about how he predicted homosexual “marriage” in 2003 because homosexuality was mainstream on television and in the popular culture. This was true even in the conservative state of Texas where he lived. The podcast can be found here:

Homosexual “marriage” was not brought about because of politicians or judges, it was brought about by the mainstreaming of homosexuality in the culture by movies like Big Daddy and many other books, television programs, and movies.

The secular elites are the ones that caused homosexuality to be mainstream and eventually forced the hands of the politicians and judges. It’s almost impossible to watch a modern television program, a modern movie, or read a modern book without having the view that in this setting, sodomy is kosher. The reason is that nothing is sacred to the enemies of God. There is not one part of life that they won’t go after.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I’ve seen all the movies and have read a lot of the books. With the new movie that came out last year, a lot of people are wondering, how do you get the political situation that you have in The Force Awakens from where things left off in Return of the Jedi? It’s a 30 year gap so everyone wants to know what happened.

Claudia Gray wrote the book Star Wars: Bloodline which takes place a few years before The Force Awakens and explains how the new political situation arose. Sadly, in this book we find more of the mainstreaming of homosexual thought. There is a character named Ransolm Casterfo who is going to buy an old Imperial artifact from a shady dealer. Her name is Arliz Hadrassian. When they first meet we read:

“Ransolm gave her his most winning smile. It was, he knew, a good one, highly effective on most women and more than a few men.”

There you have it. I can’t even enjoy a Star Wars novel without having to read homosexual propaganda. The secular elites just have to use every channel they can to mainstream this abomination. Apparently a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away they had the same cultural revolution that we did. We can’t even enjoy a Star Wars novel because these secular elites want make every part of life an avenue for preaching depravity. Nothing is sacred to the enemies of God.
